Saturday, August 4, Registration, Daniel Island Clubhouse, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Unofficial Practice Round after 2:00 p.m. - $80 green fee.
Sunday, August 5, Registration, Daniel Island Clubhouse. 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Practice Round Ralston Creek Course, 7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (no fee) Long Drive Qualifying during the practice round.
Monday, Aug 6 First round, waves from 1st and 10th tees beginning at 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug 7 Second round, waves from 1st and 10th tees beginning at 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. (Field cut to 27 girls and 51 boys following round)
Wednesday, Aug 8 Third round, 7:30 a.m. from 1st and 10th tees. Long Drive Championship, 3:00 p.m. State Chair’s Dinner, Daniel Island Club, 6:30 pm.
Thursday, Aug 9 Final round, 7:30 a.m. from 1st and 10th tees. Awards ceremony, Scoreboard, immediately following the round.
Registration Player registration will be held Saturday (12:00 pm – 5:00 pm) and Sunday (8:00 am – 2:00 pm). All players must register in-person prior to 2:00 p.m. Sunday (August 5) in the Daniel Island Clubhouse registration area. Should the occasion arise that weather or some unexpected emergency occurs, contact Mr. Carriker at (210) 710-7744 for authorization to extend the mandatory registration.
Practice Rounds The official practice round will be held Sunday (August 5), beginning at 7:30 a.m., foursomes from the first tee. Tee-times are the player’s responsibility and may be made after July 16, 2018 by calling the Golf Shop at (843) 971-3542. An additional round is also available Saturday after 2:00 p.m. with an $80 greens fee. Please call after July 16th to arrange for this unofficial practice round.
Long Drive Contest The Patrick Cannon Memorial Long Drive Championship will be held upon completion of the third round, August 8. Qualifying attempts will be conducted during the Sunday practice round, with five boys and five girls advancing to the long drive championship.
Dress Code The Big I adheres to a strict dress code for its golfers which will be enforced throughout the week of the Championship. Players are expected to wear traditional golf attire in good taste. The Committee and Host venue reserve the right to ask any player not conforming to the following dress code to change or leave the facility.
Required Dress includes: - Men must wear collared shirts, turtlenecks or mock turtlenecks, and those shirts must be tucked-in at all times. - Hats or visors must be worn with the brim forward - Women’s fashion shirts without a collar must have sleeves. - Women’s fashion shirts must not rise above the belt line at any time during the golf swing. - Women’s shorts must be golf appropriate
The Following Are Not Permitted: - Tee shirts or collarless shirts (men) - Tank tops, jeans, denim shorts, cut-off shorts, gym shorts or short-shorts. - Cargo pants or cargo shorts. - Men may not wear headgear indoors.
Spectators are asked to dress appropriately while visiting the host venue and denim is not allowed in any of the Club facilities.
Carts As a general rule, carts are not allowed on the course during the official practice and Championship rounds. Spectaror carts will only be allowed for a player’s relative supported by a doctor’s certified medical reason. This authorization must be requested from Mr. Carriker at Championship Operations.
Caddies Caddies may be used during the two practice rounds and during Championship rounds three and four. There are no limitations for caddies during the Sunday practice round, however, during rounds three and four, the caddie may not be a parent or professional golf coach. A player’s parent or coach may not caddy for another player if that player is playing with the caddie’s child or student. The Daniel Island Golf Shop will not arrange for local caddies.
Players who miss the cut and remain at the club may like to caddy for players during the third and fourth rounds. A caddy need / sign-up will be maintained in the Player’s lounge.
Player’s Lounge Complimentary breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided to the players in the Player’s Lounge between the hours of 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 pm p.m. Lunch service will terminate at 3:00 p.m.
Practice Range The Practice range will be in operation between the hours of 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Player services will also be positioned Monday through Thursday.
Hotels The Host Committee has arranged for special room rates in the best proximity to the Daniel Island Club.

When making your reservation, reference Trusted Choice Big “I” Golf Tournament to receive the rate of $154 per room per night, a 14% tax, and a $2.18 destination fee The block on these rates will be lifted July 15, 2018.
Transportation Transportation will be provided for players from the Charleston Airport on Saturday (only), August 4 to the Daniel Island Club. Players requesting this service will be greeted at baggage claim and transported to Daniel Island to complete registration. Return transportation to the Charleston Airport will also be provided on Thursday, August 9. When booking return flights, please consider the final round should be completed by 2:30 pm, followed by the awards ceremony. Travel time between Daniel Island and the airport is approximately 30 minutes. It is strongly suggested that return flights home not be made prior to 6:00 p.m. due to play times and traffic. Insure all transportation information is provided during on-line registration and feel free to contact the Transportation Chair, Bay Amrhein at (843) 906-3497 or email@example.com. Requests for transportation must be accomplished through on-line registration by July 25.
Host Family Housing The Trusted Choice Big “I” is famous for its host / private housing. The Host Committee provides housing for players in homes of club members and residents of the local community. Cut-off for private housing requests will be July 25, 2018, with home assignments beginning July 27. . At that time, players requesting host housing must have provided all travel information to insure this service is available. Host families will house two players of like ages and gender, and will provide transportation for their players during their stay. Insure all housing information is provided during on-line registration and feel free to contact the Host Family Housing Chair, Kathy McKay at (843) 224-9224 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Requests for host housing must be accomplished through on-line registration by July 25. Housing assignments will begin July 27 and completed July 30.
On-Line Registration Players advancing to the National Championship will receive their ids and passwords from the National Committee for on-line registration shortly after their State Qualifying Tournaments. On-line registration will commence Jun 4 and completed prior to July 22. Please be complete with information requested as the type of support provided by the National and Host Committees is determined by these entries.
Medical All players are expected to have private medical coverage prior to arriving in Mississippi. While medical support will be on the course daily. Off-site facilities TBD.
Special Instructions. 1 Range finders (no wind or slope capability) may be used during all rounds. 2 Players, nor their caddies are authorized to use cell phones while on the course.
