Daniel Island Club Charleston, South Carolina August 6 - 9, 2018
Established in 2001, the Daniel Island Club has grown into one of the Charleston area’s most respected private clubs, with the country’s only single-property pairing of private course by Tom Fazio and Rees Jones. Jones designed the Ralston Creek course to include all of the elements of a stern test of golf, including strategically placed, sculpted fairway bunkers and greenside bunkers placed to protect the championship pin positions. The course opened in 2006 and was named among the nation’s top new private courses by Golfweek and Golf Digest magazines. Playing 7,446 yards from the Championship tees, the Ralston Creek course is known for exceptional greens conditions and has served as the site for a variety of tournaments and events. It was the host site for the PGA Tour’s Nationwide Tour Championship for three years starting in 2009. This season-ending event for what is now the PGA’s Web.com tour, brought the world’s top emerging golfers to Daniel Island to compete for prize money and the chance to earn one of 25 PGA Tour cards for the following season.
Designed amongst a stunning backdrop of tidal rivers and creeks, saltwater marsh vistas and maritime forest, the Ralston Creek course is a Lowcountry classic that Jones intended to “stand the test of time for generations of Daniel Island Club members and their families.” It also provides an exceptional set-up for tournament competition and will make a perfect venue for the Trusted Choice Big I National Championship.
